Duties include learning and assisting with the payroll process, assisting in administering and maintaining employee benefits, filing, and recordkeeping.
HR Assistant may also help with employee relations programs and processes.
In addition, the HR Assistant would greet any visitors to RAM Tool, answer phone calls, and will maintain vital employee records.
Essential responsibilities may include the following:
1.
Organizes, updates, and maintains personnel files; prepares and manages HR documents, and performs data entry for the HRIS system software.
2.
Assists with employment, personnel records, employee relations, performance evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, payroll.
3.
Facilitates activities related to recruitment, including participating in interviews, handling requests for background checks and drug screens and/or results.
4.
Conducts the new hire and onboarding processes, including preparation and presentation of an offer letter, review of company policies and benefit plans and collection and processing of new hire paperwork.
5.
May administer Workers Compensation by coordinating the completion of the first report of injury and submitting to the insurance carrier.
Completes necessary follow-up work.
6.
Coordinates, plans, schedules, and maintains records for various Human Resources projects, meetings and programs.
Updates and maintains the exit interview process and database.
7.
Administers the unemployment process by submitting necessary information and backup documentation regarding employee separation.
8.
Maintains and updates job descriptions for all positions.
9.
Responds to general inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, timecards, etc.
from employees and leadership at various levels of the organization.
10.
Helps resolve work-related issues.
Performs general clerical duties to include filing, copying, maintaining, tracking, mailing, and ordering Human Resources materials.
11.
May assist Recruiter and attend recruitment/job fairs as needed.
Compile reports and perform ad hoc reports.
Education and/or Experience Requires a minimum of 2 years' experience to attain proficiency in general and human resources computer programs including MS Office and payroll systems.
Must maintain employee records, know how to process payroll and create change of status notices and employment letters.
Requires a minimum of high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
A bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or Marketing is desirable.
Qualifications & Skills Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work well under pressure Be adept at organizing office.
Self-motivated and be able to take the initiative.
Physical Demands Works in a normal business office environment.
May experience prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the company's facilities.
